After months of careful planning and preparation, the City of Frankfort, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), American Structurepoint, and Atlas Excavating are preparing to start the Phase 1 reconstruction of Washington Avenue from Williams Street to Hoke Avenue.
This reconstruction will provide new pavement, curbs, sidewalks, and driveways from Williams Street to Hoke Avenue. A wide sidewalk will be constructed along the southeast side of the street for pedestrians and bicyclists. The project will also provide drainage improvements, new pavement markings, new signage, and improved intersection sight distance along the corridor. Older existing utilities will be replaced. Additionally, access to businesses and residences on Washington Avenue will be maintained throughout the construction period.
Atlas Excavating has been awarded the role of prime contractor. American Structurepoint will provide on-site supervision and administration for the City of Frankfort and INDOT.
